Imphal, January 23 2022: Strongly protesting at being overlooked over the ticket allocation for the coming Assembly election, former MLA Dr E Dwijamani has announced the dissolution of Congress party in Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency during a public meeting today.

The Congress has given its ticket for Hiyanglam AC to one Dr Huidrom Jiten Singh.

Speaking to media persons after the meeting at Hiyanglam Awang Leikai today, Dr Dwijamani condemned the Congress leaders for giving the ticket for the AC to someone who is not recognised by the BCC and DCC.

Saying that he had served MPCC for 12 long years as vice president, the former MLA continued that any applicant seeking admission to the party must submit its form to BCC and DCC as per the constitution of INC.

The candidate who received a Congress ticket in Hiyanglam is not recognised by DCC and BCC, he rued.

Claiming that BCC, BYCC, BMCC, NSUI and other party frontal organisations including Kakching District Congress Committee have unanimously resolved to dissolve Congress in Hiyanglam AC, Dr Dwijamani accused former Chief Minister O Ibobi of oppressing its own party workers.
