Imphal, January 03:
Sounding a stern warning, the proscribed PREPAK has today decreed that the JAC members, who took part in vandalism after the outfit had awarded the capital punishment on one person on September 28 this year and have still not surrendered to the outfit, despite the earlier deadline of December 10, should leave Manipur by January 15 failing which they should be ready to face all the consequences.
In a statement, the publicity and propaganda in charge of the outfit, Aheiba Angom today said that the JAC members were warned to surrender to the outfit within December 10 for needlessly whipping up tension and added that while many of them have followed the decree, some of them have failed to do so.
As such those who have failed to surrender should now leave Manipur by January 15 or else they will be given fitting punishment, warned the outfit.
The outfit has also claimed responsibility for awarding the death sentence on Ningthoujam Ingocha and Ningthoujam Chaoba alias Thenggra on December 30.Both were from Kakching Khunou Nongmaikhong Mayai Leikai in Thoubal district.
The statement said that Thenggra was given the capital punishment as he had taken advantage of the internal turmoil of the party and was involved in extortion and going after contract work by posing as a Sgt Major of PREPAK.
Despite many warning, Thenggra refused to listen, claimed the statement and added that his companion Ingocha was also awarded the same penalty as he was also guilty of all the charges.
One rifle has been seized from their possession, claimed the statement.
The outfit further said that despite telling the local meira paibis and the local people the reason for the capital punishments, they had formed a JAC to foment trouble and added that this is not advisable.
