ATSUM warns eco blockade from Oct 28

Imphal, October 27 2016:
Piling the pressure on the MU authority to abide by the Parliamentary Act of 2012 with regard to the reservation of ST students in admission, the All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur has warned of imposing an indefinite economic blockade from October 28 midnight.
The other demands of the student body include MU abide by the directive of the Union HRD Ministry and intimation from the High Court of Manipur to stick by the reservation norms of 31 pc for ST students, 2 pc for SC students and 17 pc for OBC in admission to MU.

ATSUM has also urged the newly appointed VC of the varsity to stop the admission processes underway at MU immediately.
In a statement, ATSUM warned that in case the MU authority fails to implement the points laid down, an intense agitation will be launched on all National Highways including an indefinite economic blockade from October 28.National projects will also be banned.
