The Chavang Kut 2016 Committee extends has invitation all the people of Manipur to join in the celebration of the post-harvest festival of Kuki-Manasseh group scheduled to be held from October 30 to November 1, 2016, at Peace Ground, Tuibong, Churachandpur, Manipur.
More than seventy Kuki-Manasseh tribe will participate in the three-day event.
Conrad K Sangma, Lok Sabha MP and Lal Thanhawla, Chief Minister, Government of Mizoram will graced the festival as chief guests, our correspondent reports.
The Chavang Kut 2016 will also celebrate thanksgivings by re-uniting long-parted Kuki-Manasseh brethren besides showcasing of the rich cultural heritage in the form of traditional dances and songs, games and sports, and various items.
A monument celebrating the re-union of Kuki-Manasseh brethren from all over Asia will be unveiled during the festival.
The committee has further appealed to all the civil society organizations, groups and associations to refrain from calling bandh and or general strike during the celebration.
