Imphal, February 23 2022:
NEDA convenor and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has asserted that the BJP is in a position to form the next Government without any assistance from other parties such as JD (U) and NPP.
He made the statement at the flag hoisting ceremony of BJP candidate in Thongju AC and Works Minister Th Biswajit at Ningomthong today.
The Assam Chief Minister reiterated that the BJP will win over 40 seats and as such the party can form the next Government without entering into partnership with other parties.
Stating that the saffron party will focus on peace and development after retaining power, Himanta Biswa maintained that he attended the flag hoisting ceremony of Th Biswajit in 2017 too.
"At that time, I never thought that the BJP would lead the Government," the NEDA convenor declared and maintained that Th Biswajit played a key role in saving the State Government and will do the same in the next term too.
He also maintained that Biswajit occupies a respected position in the BJP for his dedication to the party.
BJP National spokesperson Sambit Patra said that Prime Minister Narendra visit to Manipur yesterday was historic as he declared that Manipur will see its golden era if the BJP wins two-third majority in this Assembly election.
He then urged the voters to exercise their franchise wisely and by taking into account the assurance of the Prime Minister.
"Don't let a man from Shillong decide the fate of the State and nor will the arrow from a distant place reach Manipur," the BJP spokesperson asserted and added that it is only the party with the Lotus symbol which knows the sentiments of the people.
BJP State unit president A Sharda Devi claimed that Th Biswajit is the first person to win election on the party ticket after 1995 as the other had left the party.
Saying that the BJP is aware of the works done by the Works Minister in his Constituency in the last five years, A Sharda contended that no other MLAs from the Thongju were as committed as Biswajit is in serving the people.
She exuded confidence that the people of Thongju will send Biswajit, who is young and dynamic, as their representative again.
The host of the ceremony Th Biswajit claimed that the BJP has delivered all its assurance given to the people.
Continuing that BJP is the world's biggest political party which always keeps its words and focuses on development, the Works Minister maintained that there will be peace and development wherever there is BJP.
Claiming that 90 percent of the voters in Thongju AC will support him in this election while the party will secure over 40 seats in the State, Th Biswajit alleged that the BJP will translate all its agenda in the manifesto into action.
Union Minister Pratima Bhoumik, Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton, BJP Nagaland unit president Temjen Imna Along, Assam Minister Ashok Singhal, former MPs Th Chaoba and K Bhabananda also attended the programme.
