New Delhi, December 22 2011:
Investigations into the involvement of Manipur-based insurgent outfit, People's Liberation Army (PLA), in creating a "strong united front" against the Indian Government by helping Maoists and Kashmiri militants, is over.
The police have finished interrogating two high-ranking PLA officers, N Dilip Singh and Arunkumar Singh Salam, who were arrested in October from a Delhi hotel.
The Special Cell will file a chargesheet soon.
"PLA provided logistics, training, weapons and communication equipment to the Maoists and trained them in the jungles of Jharkhand and Orissa.
They were also planning a major joint training camp of Maoists and terrorists in association with Pakistan's ISI.
These revelations were made by Singh and Salam after their arrest.
We have got enough evidence against them and the chargesheet is being finalized," said a source.
Dilip, a self-styled captain, is the head of PLA's external affairs while Arunkumar is his deputy.
They had come to Delhi with instructions to discuss the modalities of providing training with Maoists.
Their interrogation had also revealed that PLA and Maoists had agreed on a joint declaration intending to form a 'Strategic United Front' in 2008 to extend full support to each other in their struggle to overthrow the Indian government.
Investigations also suggested that Dilip had met Maoist leader Kishenda of the CPI-Maoist, who was recently killed by security forces, in 2010 .
