MASTEC, NIELIT prepare for NSD-2024

Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) on Friday announced that MASTEC in association with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Akampat, Imphal will participate in the virtual inaugural function of the National Science Day (NSD) 2024 at the seminar hall of NIELIT.
A release by MASTEC informed that NSD is held every year on February 28 to commemorate the discovery of 'Raman Effect' by Indian physicist CV Raman, who won Nobel Prize in 1930.NSD is being observed with an objective to raise awareness about the importance of science in everyday life and to inculcate scientific temperament among the general public.
The release further informed that this year's NSD themed 'Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat' will be inaugurated online by union minister of state for science and technology Jitendra Singh at 11 am on February 28 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
As part of the NSD 2024 and under the guidance of National Council for Science and Technology (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology (DST), government of India, MASTEC will be carrying out outreach activities in the form of series of lectures followed by interaction at different institutions on themes such as 'Science for fitness', 'Girls in science', 'Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat' and 'Mission Life', etc., from February 26 to March 3, it mentioned.
The release continued that MASTEC will observe National Mathematics Day 2023 and National Science Day 2024 for three months with various student-centric activities and competitions including science exhibition, mathematics model exhibition and interactions of students with Manipuri scientists working outside the state in reputed research, development institutions, etc.
