Imphal, October 19 2022:
While expressing gratitude to Water Resources minister Awangbow Newmai and RD & PR minister Yumnam Khemchand for overseeing the only lifeline road of Magulong village inspite of their busy schedule and journey, Magulong Na Students' Union (MNSU), hoped that the momentum of road construction will pick up and get it completed at the earliest.
The media cell of the Union noted that despite non-inclusion in duo's tour itinerary the two ministers inspected the village road being constructed under the PMGSY and gave their assurance to pressurise the department concerned and authority to have a motorable road at the earliest.
The union said that the road had been neglected and dilapidated for long by the department and contractors concerned.
"We are confident that the assurances made by the ministers, to have all-weather road connectivity from the village, will materialise the dream of Magulong denizens," it said.
This road connecting Katang Mbeukam and Magulong village under PMGSY, is the only approach road to Mt Kisha, the cave where freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu hid during her freedom struggle days around 1932 and 1962, said MNSU.
