PPCM, LINTOC prepare for Lamyanba Irabot observance

Imphal, August 31 2024: Protection and Preservation Committee, Manipur (PPCM) and Lamyanba Irabot Ningshing Thouram Observation Committee (LINTOC) will jointly organise month-long Lamyanba Hijam Irabot observance to commemorate his works and life.

Speaking to media persons at its Wahengbam Leikai office on Friday, convenor Ph Nando informed that PPCM and LINTOC are prepared to dedicated whole month of September to Lamyanba Hijam Irabot.

Highlighting the need for the present generation to follow the path of Hijam Irabot, he stressed the need for promoting egalitarian society while opining that the distress besetting the commoners of Manipur and lack of development are primarily due to absence of true public leaders like Lamyanba Irabot.

The month long observance will begin from September 1 with mass tree plantation programme at Mamang Ching under Moirang AC, and visit to schools for imparting lessons on martial arts and first aid awareness from September 6 to 19 .

On September 21, the day Irabot went underground, a public meeting on works and life of Irabot as well as function will be organised to pay tributes on September 26.A state level observance of the birth anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot will be conducted On September 3.0 along with state level patriotic song competition, he continued, while urging the people to extend all possible help for smooth conduct of the observance.
