High mast lights to illuminate MU campus

Imphal, August 06 2021: Works minister Th Biswajit along with Manipur University authorities inspected and discussed about four spots inside the university campus where high mast lights are to be installed as well as preparations being made to provide better and uninterrupted power supply in the varsity campus.

Following submission of a written request to him highlighting some issues by MU authority, minister Biswajit along with officials of works department visited the university on Friday to redress the issues raised by the MU authority.

MU vice chancellor professor Lokendra, registrar W Chandbabu and other top officials of the university thanked minister Biswajit for inspecting the university campus and for taking up initiative on issues raised by the MU authority.

After holding discussion with MU authorities at its administrative block, the minister along with MU officials inspected sites where high mast lights are to be installed and the minister assured the officials that work for installation of high mast lights will begin soon.

He also assured MU authorities that steps will be taken up soon to provide uninterrupted power supply inside the university campus so that problems faced by research scholars and students due to power outage are resolved.

Manipur State Power Distribution Corporation Limited managing director Ng Subaschandra, managing director M Birjit and other officials of the corporation accompanied the minister during the inspection.
