Heirok violence contradicts CM's claim: Loken

Imphal, December 25 2021: Chief minister N Biren Singh claims that the law-and-order situation of the state has improved.

However, the recent incident in Heirok AC has proven otherwise.

Since such an unfortunate incident has occurred right under his supervision, the CM should resign from his post on moral ground, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president N Loken Singh has demanded.

Speaking on the sidelines of handing over the new building of Nambol Youth Club and Library in Nambol on Friday, Loken remarked that state BJP government is behaving as if there is no government in the state.

The supporters of the party are doing whatever they want without any fear of the law.

The CM's frequent claims of improvement in law-and-order situation in the state has been contradicted by many violent incidents, including the recent incident in Heirok AC.

Questioning if the acts of BJP workers in Heirok AC publicly displaying guns, vandalizing houses and assaulting people are signs of improved law and order situation; the Nambol AC MLA demanded the chief minister to resign on moral ground.

He continued: "During the time of Congress, the Right to Education was implemented to improve the lives of the people by ensuring free education from Class I to VOL However, the BJP government has introduced many schemes and policies, none of which have truly helped the people.

The people are well aware which political party has been working for a better future of them and the country.

BJP's bogus schemes cannot be considered for long term and the party should do well to remember that they cannot fool the people in this day and age".

Loken further commented on the statements made by BJP regarding the developmental works in Nambol AC, adding that the people of Nambol are not easy to fool.

He then said that Congress will win the next election.

It may be mentioned here that in addition to the new building of Nambol Youth Club and Library, Loken also handed over an Administrative Block to the people.

The library building has been constructed under his (Loken) MLA LADF.
