Sit-in protests firing at house of former CS

Bishnupur, September 20 2024: Condemning the fifing attack by unknown persons at the house of JDU Manipur vice president and former Manipur chief secretary Oinam Nabakishore at Ningthoukhong Ward No 7 on Thursday night, Ningthoukhong Kha Leikai Ward No 7 Meira Paibi staged a sit-in protest on Friday.

The protesters carried placards inscribed with slogan such as "We Want Peace", "We Condemn the Gun Attack in Residential Areas", and "Do Not Frighten the Common People" .

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines, a meira paibi member expressed strong resentment that amid continuous threats from Kuki narco-terrorists, the firing incident caused fear and anxiety among the public.

While appealing to all concerned to refrain from such acts in the future, she also suggested that those involved in the attack clarify their motives.
