Royal Palace team inspects Khoupum Road

Imphal, February 11 2023: A 40-member team of the royal palace (Sana Konung) on Friday inspected condition of the road leading Khoupum Valley at Longsai Tubung village Part-Ill, the site where a tragic bus accident claimed the lives of scores of students and teaching staff of Thambalnu High School, Yairipok.

According to an Uttra Shanglen, Sana Konung representative, the inspection carried out under the aegis of titular king of Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba had priests and scholars as well as functionaries of the royal palace.

The team was warmly received by the locals of Tubung village after which an interaction session was conducted between the two parties.

Tubung villagers also urged the Sana Konung team to conduct rituals at the accident site to absolve apprehension and dread felt by people in taking the said route, the representative said.

It is informed that the team inspected three other accident-prone areas along the road stretch and will hold discussion to conduct rituals at Sana Konung at the earliest.
