Urdu course likely at MU: Amin

Union Minister of Minority Affairs K Rahman Khan has been urged for opening a course in Urdu language at Manipur University, Parliamentary Secretary of Minorities and Other Backward Classes (MOBC) Md Amin Shah said today.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the certificate distribution ceremony of a computer course organized by Minority and Other Backward Classes Economic Development Society (MOBEDS) at the Centenary Hall of Manipur University here.
Amin Shah further said that the new course in Urdu would benefit not only the Muslim students but also students from other communities.
The Central Government would surely grant permission to start the course within a short time, he noted.
The Parliamentary Secretary also assured that various schemes and programmes for development of minorities would be taken up by the State Government.
The certificate distribution ceremony was also attended by Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University Prof HNK Sarma, Registrar of Manipur University Prof N Lokendro and Project Director MOBEDS Md Salauddin Khan.
