Unity for peace echoes on ASR's anniv

The 58th foundation day of Anal Sinnu Ruwl (ASR) was celebrated today under the theme of "Towards Peace, Unity and Right of women' with thousands of Anal women attending the event hosted at the complex of Anal Sinnu Ruwl Office located at Panchai in Chandel District.
Though ASR was founded on this day in 1955, it was for the first time that the foundation day was celebrated today.
The celebration marked by speeches by invited dignitaries, honoring of the pioneering leaders of ASR, distinguished personalities from among the Anal women and competition on originally composed lyrics of Anal folk songs.
Among the speakers, Ht Cicilia Awon, wife of MLA of 41- Chandel AC St Nunghlung Victor; Kl Hringkham, MCS SDC Chandel; Dr Ht Julhlung Clare, CMO SG)/ Commandant Medical BSF exhorted the gathering women folk to be peace makers in their respective homes and society.
A monument to mark the 58th Foundation Day was also unveiled by Rev Rt Margret, former Women Secretary of ANBA, who is also the first woman ordained minister from among the Anal women.
It was followed by the key note address delivered by Nl Khuwngam, former President of ASR.
Mother of ASR Sng Tojang, who was a pioneering figure in the formation of ASR hoisted the flag during an anthem choired by Hnatham ASR.
Folk tale in the form of skit performed by Yangkelching Khutha ASR, Modern folk dance presented by students of Koinonia and talent show by a renowned artiste among Anal community Hb Tohring entertained the gathering throughout the programme.
Thungcheng ASR, Panchai ASR and Lamphoupasna bagged the first, second and third position in the original version of folk song competition while Hnatham ASR, Abungnikhu ASR and Riverline ASR bagged the first, second and third position in the composed version of the folk song competition as part of the celebration.
