LINTOC, ICC appeal to relax bandh on Sept 21

Imphal, September 20 2024: Lamyanba Irabot Ningshing Thouram Observation Committee (LINTOC) has appealed for relaxation of the bandh called on September 21 in view of the observance to commemorate the day Lamyanba Irabot went under-ground on September 21, 1948 .

In a release, convenor K Thoiba said LINTOC has been observing the day to remember works and sacrifice of Irabot for an egalitarian society.

He urged not to cause issues to those en-route to the observance venue.

Similarly, Irawat Celebration Committee (ICC) informed that it will observe Pungdongbam incident and 'Manipurgi Ngamkhei Kalamba Numit' at Irabot memorial site, Pungdongbam and Irabot memorial hall, Chalou.

Informing that the observance is being held continuously since 1980, it further urged to exempt those who come to attend the programme from the purview of the bandh for smooth observance of the tribute event.
