LPG blast destroys house in Chandel

Imphal, September 20 2024:
A house at Angkhel Chayang village near Chandel town suffered substantial damage in a fire incident following explosion of an LPG cylinder on Wednesday around 6:30 pm.
According to a statement, the house which belonged to one Kh Morenshing, was unoccupied at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported.
The inferno caused irreparable damage to the house, resulting in loss of valuable personal belongings, including important documents such as school certificates, NREGA job card, ration card, health card, Aadhaar card, PAN card and bank passbook.
The loss is estimated at Rs 20 lakh.
Local authorities, including Chandel police and the Fire Brigade, arrived at the spot and managed to control the blaze from spreading to adjoining structures, the release added.
