Not customary to eat before serving guests: RK Imo

Imphal, November 16 2021: With apparent reference to ex-BJP candidate Dr Kh Loken's recent statement that likened joining of Congress (unattached) MLA RK Imo to the BJP as party pooper, the Sagolband legislator responded that it is not customary for hosts to eat before serving the guests.

RK Imo also urged supporters of the constituency's BJP Mandal and the party as whole to welcome him into the fold and help BJP expand its roots in the state.

The MLA on Tuesday inaugurated an upgraded building of Sagolband Ingudam Leikai Youth Association (SILYA) with the newly installed roof top solar system.

Speaking on the occasion, he observed that although the polls are coming closer, Congress party and others have not stopped talking.about him.

He then said that he is now on the same wavelength as the BJP supporters and as such urged for their support.

"It is not customary for the hosts to eat before serving the guests.

Thus, we must work together to eat at the same time.

BJP Sagolband Mandal has been working for the welfare of the people", he conveyed, while urging all concerned for joint support and help in the formation of a complete and effective government.

Regarding the new club building and the roof top solar system which was installed, the MLA informed that the solar system, which cost around Rsl.5-2 lakh, would help light up the local roads for over 25 years.

He then assured of installing similar systems in other clubs under the LADF within the next 5 years.

Imo then appealed to the people to continue maintaining Covid Appropriate Behaviour and precautions, even if the pandemic has somewhat gone down.

Contending that Sagolband is not lagging in terms of development, Imo said that even though the constituency does not have a minister, it is one of the developed constituencies in the state, which is all due to the trust of the people upon him.

Assuring of constructing a Meira Shang for the locality in the next term, the MLA urged the locals to provide a suitable location for the same.

He then mentioned that efforts are being made to make Thangapat a tourism site, adding that a proposal had been sent to the government to help prevent the putrefaction of the water.

The water could soon become potable in a few years' time, he said.

Presided over by SILYA ex-president Th Brajamani Meitei, the function was attended by IMC Ward no 7 corporator RK Jiten as guest of honour.
