CrPC 144 imposed in Yairipok Singha

Thoubal, October 05 2021: A club building constructed at Singha Makha Leikai, Thoubal was demolished by a mob around noon Tuesday on the charge of constructing the club building at a space which was occupied by Singha Market Development Association.

In order to control the situation, Yairipok police fired tear gas shells while Thoubal district magistrate has issued order imposing restrictions under section 144 of the CrPC in Yairipok Singha.

Speaking to media persons, Singha Ideal Club advisor Md Firoz informed that Singha Makha Welfare Association started constructing club building on the land which has been occupied by Singha Market Development Association since 2008 without the approval of pradhan and clubs of the locality.

Despite the three clubs i.e.Singha Ideal Club, Singha Makha Youth Progressive Club and Singha Mathak Modern Club informing about the matter to Singha Makha Welfare Association, it continued the construction process instead of halting, he contended, while adding that the locals demolished the a kutcha building of the club constructed by an individual to make ATM booth and a shop after Singha Makha Welfare Association secretly tried to assemble the roof of the club on Tuesday.

Firoz further condemned the action of Yairipok police who fired tear gas shells thereby injuring people.
