Fresh attack by Kuki militants in Jiribam

Jiribam, September 20 2024:
Kuki militants launched another round of attacks on Mongbung Meetei village in Jiribam late Friday night, escalating tensions in the district.
The assault, which began around 9:20 pm, came from nearby Mongbung and Seijang Kuki villages.
Ground reports said that the militants used bombs and automatic rifles, with bombs being the primary weapon of choice during the attack.
Meetei village volunteers, as well as state security forces stationed in the area, responded to the aggression.
Despite the intensity of the attack, no casualties have been reported from either side.
At of the time of filing this report, heavy gunfire continues to rage between the militants and the security forces.
This marks yet another episode in a series of relentless attacks on Mongbung Meetei village for the past few weeks.
