RK Anand lauds Govt for door-to-door urea distribution

Imphal, August 06 2021: Former MLA of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC and BJP Manipur Pradesh executive member RK Anand has lauded the state government for taking up the initiative of distributing urea to every household keeping in mind the problems faced by farmers in trying to procure fertiliser.

On Thursday evening, RK Anand provided dinner to the inmates of Community Home Isolation Centre at Mega High School, Malom.

Speaking at the event, Anand recounted that since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the state in March 2020, Coordinating Committee Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC and its allied bodies have been assisting the people especially those in containment zones including door-to-door distribution of subsidized rice and other edibles.

Additionally, top government officials, Imphal West DC and Health Department have been working with clubs, organisations, Task Force and other Committees in conducting mass testing, vaccination and awareness programmes, he added.

"Coordinating Committee Naoriya Pakhanglakpa will continue its 'War against Coronavirus' and will not stop until the virus is completed defeated", the ex-MLA said while appreciating the support of the government in this regard and urged the people to extend their support to the government as well.

Commenting on the absence of an MLA for the constituency, Anand said that the absence has hindered the Covid-19 relief efforts, all because of the self-vested interests of the local MLA.

However, as he also once used to an MLA of the constituency, he considered it his responsibility to help the people and as such, has been coordinating with top government officials including the health department in this regard.

He then appreciated the government and the agriculture minister for providing door-to-door delivery of urea to farmers who have facing fertiliser shortage due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

At present, farmers of Mongsangei and Langthabal farmers have begun receiving the urea and efforts are being undertaken to distribute urea to farmers in the remaining areas of the constituency.

He then said that the people should be appreciative of the government taking into account all it is doing for the farmers.
