Houses, paddy fields including 44-Yaithibi Loukol submerged

Due to the incessant rain in the last few days in Manipur people are now reeling under untold hardships after their houses, paddy fields and roads have been flooded.
Pradhan of Pallel GP in a press statement stated that more than 200 paris of paddy fields in Yaithibi Loukol has been submerged while more than 40 houses and 25 houses have been flooded in Sora and Langthabal Khunnou areas.
Many villagers have fled to nearby villages and taken shelter at the houses of relatives, said the statement.
More than 2000 paris of paddy fields have been inundated at the well known 61(B) Lousipat.
The Pradhan also claimed that nearly 500 paris of paddy fields have also been flooded at Louchao.
While condemning the statement of Kakching A/C MLA Y Surchandra, who said that the water level would come down to normal after 5/10 days, the Pradhan alleged the State Govt has not done enough for the flood affected people of the area.
The statement also revealed that Yaithibi Loukol is not the proper place to build the Sports University and further called on the authorities to look into the matter at earliest.
Meanwhile, Keirao Kendra Minority Muslim's Development Organisation (KKMMDO) has called on the authorities to provide immediate relief materials to the flood affected victims of Keirao Kendra, Imphal East.
While saying that the Imphal river, Iril river and Kongba river flows through the constituency, secretary of KKMMDO in a statement said that more than a 300 m long retaining wall at Kyamgei Muslim and Oinam Loukol which fall under the Imphal river has collapsed.
Apart from it, continuous overflowing of water is experiencing at more than five places of Kongba and Iril river, added the statement.
While urging all organisations not to sanction or receive any fundin connection with the flood issue, KKMMDO also warned of legal action against wrong doers.
Top Makha Leikai Singyen Lup (MARUP) also confirmed that more than four thousand pariss of paddy fields and fish firms at Yaral and Wakha of Khetrigao A/C have been submerged.
Secretary of the Lup in a press statement appealed to Manipur Govt, Agriculture Dept, Minor Irrigation Dept and Fisheries Dept to take up immediate measures for the farmers.
Meanwhile, under the supervision of Nambol A/C MLA N Loken, Councilor of Nambol Kongkham Ward No 8 NMC, Kongkham Brojen Singh distributed daily essential commodities including rice, kerosene, salt, candles, etc to the flood affected villages of the area.
Officials of Nambol Water Supply Sub-Division No III also distributed bleaching powders to the residents of flood affected areas of the Kongkham, Naorem, Maibam and Sanjinbam.
