Imphal, November 01 2026: The All Manipur Disabled and Handicapped Persons Development Agency has opened a Day Care Centre for physically challenged and old age persons.

The centre was inaugurated at the agency's office at Singjamei Chingamakha Nambul Mapal by Thoubal District Congress Committee president Yumnam Premkumar as chief guest.

The function was attended by Elite TV editor Jeet Ningomba, Manipur University guest faculty Dr Sanasam Subhamenon and advisor of the agency Elangbam Ibotomba.

Speaking as chief guest, Premkumar said physically challenged persons should not be looked down upon and families having such members should not feel disheartened.

He said society should encourage them and make efforts for their welfare.

He said Olympic Games are organised for disabled persons across the world and medallists are honoured at the highest level.

Many physically challenged persons have succeeded in different fields through hard work, he said, calling upon all to support them to become successful persons and bring laurels for Manipur by winning medals in Olympics for the disabled.

Elangbam Ibotomba said the day care centre will be of great help in properly looking after physically challenged and aged persons and appealed to people to love and support them.
