Imphal, January 16: Takhellambam Dhanachandra alias Boro who was arrested by �unidentified� security personnel from his house at Thoubal in the adjoining nights of January 13/14 was set free last night somewhere at Lilong with a �compensation� of Rs 50 to be used as conveyance fee to his home.

Boro still does not know which army unit arrested him and the State police too is still in the dark over the matter.

The unidentified security personnel set him free last night after he was subjected to some intense round of interrogation.

Recalling the time since he was arrested before media persons at Thoubal today, Boro said that the security personnel came to his house at about 1.30 am in the adjoining nights of January 13/14 and inquired about one Temba.

"I replied that I did not know who this Temba was and thereafter I was picked up by them," he recalled.

"I was blind folded and taken to a vehicle.

Inside the vehicle I was not allowed to sit on the seat and was beaten up.

There were some Manipuri speaking persons too," Boro recalled.

Once they reached a camp, Boro was pushed inside a room and was provided with a blanket for the night.

"The next day passed and I was given tea and some puris for breakfast while at lunch time, they removed my blind fold and handcuff," said Boro and added the next day he was shifted to another room.

"There my captors quizzed me about this person they called Temba and another person Thouba," informed Boro.

"As I did not know anything about these two persons, I replied in the negatives to all the questions they raised".

"During my days at their camp, I was most of the time kept blindfolded, even when I was sleeping," said the man who has just been freed.

To questions, Boro said he really does not know where the camp was located but indicated it could not have been far from the main road as he heard a number of vehicles passing by.

After three days of captivity, Boro pleaded that he be released as he was innocent and he was informed by the guard on duty that he would be handed over to the police soon.

"Last night I was abruptly woken awake and my hand cuff was replaced by a rope and taken to vehicle and taken away from the camp," said Boro adding that he thought that was the last day for him.

After travelling for about 30 minutes, the vehicle stopped and he was asked to step out.

"At that moment I thought I was going to be shot dead and I pleaded with them not to hurt me," Boro recounted.

To his great relief one of his captors told him that he was being released and handed over a Rs 50 note for his conveyance.

His bound hands were also untied.

However as he still feared that he would be shot he jumped down into a road side ditch.

The security personnel however did not chase him and drove off, he added.

Boro was set free at Lilong Turel Ahanbi.

The time was around 11 pm and after meeting some people, he managed to contact his family on the phone.

By the time his family members came to received him, it was 1 am, he recalled.
