'Kai Fashion Weekend' kicks off

Imphal, July 31 2026: Designer Sailex Ngairangbam's 4-day 'Kai Fashion Weekend, Autumn-Winter 2026' was inaugurated Thursday at City Convention Centre, Palace Compound by Yumnam Joybala, wife of CM Y Khemchand.

On day one, 16 male and 33 female models from the State showcased Sailex Ngairangbam's latest designs on the ramp.

Speaking at the event, Sailex said fashion shows in the State are often seen only as entertainment or cultural events.

The Kai Fashion Weekend aims to change that perception and promote fashion as a businesscentric industry.

He added that the showcased designs will be taken to national stores for commercial marketing.

Handloom and Textiles Director in-charge E Jeeten also attended the event on day two.
