Start up policy to launch on Aug 14,200 entrepreneurs to benefit

In view of the implementation of Central Government's start up policy on August 12, Commerce and Industries Minister Th Biswajit has conveyed that 200 entrepreneurs, who are capable of providing a source of income for themselves, will be presented with subsidy as well as other benefits under the policy.
The Minister stated this during the inaugural ceremony of 'Style Infinity Unisex Salon' of Robert Naorem Studio & Academy.
Presided by renowned fashion designer, Robert Naorem, the inaugural ceremony was attended by Commerce and industries Minister Th Biswajit as chief guest and former Miss Earth as well as actress Nicole Faria as guest of honour.
Speaking to media persons, Th Biswajit conveyed that individuals who are using ideas or talents to earn their own livelihood will be given a subsidy of Rs 25 lakh, under the start up policy.
200 entrepreneurs of the State have been selected to avail the subsidy and the subsidy will be distributed to the beneficiaries on August 12 in a grand occasion.
He appealed all to make the indigenous or home made clothing known to the world, while urging to maintain quality of the products or items.
The Minister informed that 'Weaver of the year' award will be presented in October to motivate and encourage women weavers in the State while adding that the award will include employment/ job for a year.
A team of panellist will scrutinize the quality of the thread, its purity, fineness of product etc within a period of three months.
