Imphal, September 16 2026: Socio Economic Development (SED) Foundation organised a one-day free eye camp at Khurai Heikrumakhong in Imphal East today.

The camp, held under the supervision of SED Foundation president Laitonjam Jayananda - who is also spokesperson of People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) - in collaboration with Medilane, aimed at promoting healthy living among the people of Khurai AC.

Residents of Heikrumakhong and neighbouring localities were screened for eye ailments, BP, random blood sugar and cataract.

Jayananda visited the camp and inspected the arrangements.

SED executive member Laishram Arun said the foundation has been undertaking humanitarian services for upliftment of the poor and appealed to local clubs and organisations to extend support.

Meanwhile, as a follow-up to the free medical camp organised jointly by Seva Bharati Manipur, Manipur Senmit Ehou Lup (MASEL), City Police Station, Saksham Manipur and Bharat Vikas Parishad Manipur, a free spectacle distribution programme was held today at Khwairamband Ima Keithel.

Around 100 women vendors of the market were provided free spectacles during the programme.
