Imphal, November 26 2017:
Dismissing the declaration made by some 'expelled' members of MPP during a press meet held yesterday that Laishram Krishnadas has been elected as the party president for a term of five months, MPP president O Jugindro has clarified that there is no change in the president post of the regional party.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Jugindro claimed that Krishnadas is amongst those 14 members who were expelled from MPP for indulging in anti-party activities.
He also claimed that Sarat Kumar Maimom who was said to be elected as working president had been expelled from the party forever for going against the party.
In this regard, Central Committee of the party convened a meeting on November 15 last wherein the decision to expel Sarat Kumar was taken, he added.
He alleged that Sarat Kumar who works as a Special Class Contractor at PWD tried to mislead the people with regard to guidelines of the party.
He said that the Central Committee also resolved to extend the term of the present president from six months to eight months as the presidential election of the party shall be held one month ahead before the expiry of the term as per the party constitution.
Jugindro said that legal action will be initiated against those expelled members for attempting to malign the party.
