CM urged to take immediate action

Imphal, May 24 2022: The JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Korimayum Abdullah on Monday submitted a memorandum to chief minister N Biren seeking justice and immediate action in connection with the 'brutal murder' of Korimayum Abdullah of Yairipok Changamdabi.

In the memorandum, JAC convener Md Ayub Kori stated that Abdullah (23), son of Abdul Barik alias Ingocha was found murdered on May 22 after he went missing since May 16 .

Abdullah has been serving in the Indian Army's Army Medical Corps and was posted at Base Hospital Delhi Cantonment.

Abdulla went missing after he and three other friends attended a dinner hosted by one Md Mujibur of Lilong Nunggei.

Among others, the said dinner was also attended by one Ph Tabassum, daughter of Md Abdul Hakim of Keibung Sana Sabi Leirak, who is the sister in-law of Mujibur.

The memorandum continued that after missing for six days, the body of Abdullah was spotted in Arong Nongmaikhong section of Imphal river on May 22 .

His friends who accompanied him had filed a missing complaint report on May 18 at Lilong police station, but, unfortunately, there was no police intervention after receiving the complaint.

The JAC demanded that whosoever involved in the case should be booked within 24 hours and brought to justice at the earliest.

The charge sheet of the case should be completed within four weeks.

The government should fix accountability for inaction of the police station concerned and take stringent disciplinary actions against the personnel involved.

As the deceased was the sole bread earner of his family, the government should offer an appropriate job to one of his family members.

The case, being a sensitive and sentimental issue, government should deliver justice without further delay, the JAC urged while stating that it shouldn't be held accountable, in case the masses resort to intense agitations.
