Tamenglong, October 23 2024:
A Joint Action Committee (JAC) has been formed to address the non-release of funds under the Jal Jeevan Mission/New Development Bank (JJL/NDB) even after 3 years of completing the work by work agents of Tamei sub-division.
As per a press note, Champhakbou Pamai was appointed as the convenor of the JAC and R Poumangbou as the coconvenor.
Additionally, seven members were also appointed in the JAC.
The press note highlighted the grievances faced by the work agents of Tamei sub-division due to the delay in release of funds under JJM and further demanded transparency from the Government or concerned department and more accountability between the Government, contractors and agents.
The JAC has also urged the concerned authority to address the hardships faced by the agents and work towards streamlining the process for faster disbursement of pending funds.
The JAC has warned to launch intense agitations if their grievances are not addressed.
