BJP campaigns for NPF candidate in Tamenglong

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spearheaded an election campaign for its ally Naga People's Front (NPF) candidate K Timothy Zimik in Tamenglong district on Monday as electors in the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency brace for the second phase voting of the 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024, scheduled for April 26.Leading the event, BJP Manipur Pradesh senior spokesperson M Asnikumar said the Lok Sabha election is an opportunity for the electors to choose between communal politics and development-driven governance.
The rally, held at the Tamenglong town multipurpose hall, was attended by supporters of the candidate, ministers, MLAs, community leaders and grassroots activists to show solidarity to K Timothy Zimik.
In his address, Timothy pledged commitment to the welfare of the state and its diverse populace, shared vision of inclusivity and prosperity, assured to prioritise the needs of marginalised communities and spearhead initiatives aimed at fostering peace and development in the region.
Speaking at the campaign, Asnikumar informed the people about the transformative impact witnessed under BJP rule, from monumental infrastructure projects to empowerment of the marginalised communities.
He also underscored the role of visionary leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister N Biren in steering Manipur towards a brighter future, free from stagnation and neglect.
While accusing the Congress party of having a legacy of communalism and vote-bank politics, and contended that Manipur facing precarious situation at present is due to decades of misrule and neglect, he maintained that BJP's sole objective is to bring development, as could be comprehended from expediting materialisation of the Act East' policy and elevation of Northeastern culture on a national stage.
As such, Asnikumar implored the electors to seize the moment and cast their votes in favour of progress and prosperity.
He urged voters to entrust their aspirations to Timothy Zimik.
Party workers from NPF, BJP and its allies reaffirmed their support for K Timothy Zimik, which was symbolised by exchange of traditional shawls and pledges of allegiance.
