Chandel, February 04 2020:
The Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) has appealed the Board of Secondary Education Manipur, which conducts the High School Leaving Certificate examinations, to do away with 'exchange of candidates' this coming examinations.
While lauding the board's efforts to curb unfair means in the examinations, the NSUC in a statement today said that the candidates exchange policy had 'harassed' students in the past.
Giving example, the NSUC said in the last HSLC examinations there was exchange of candidates between Maha Government High School Chandel and Liwachangning Govt High School making it difficult for many students to travel about 20 kilometres to reach examination centres.
Urging the board to consider the hardship students would face if the exchange policy continue, NSUC also appealed for two centres in the district HQs Chandel.
