Awareness programme on 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' held at Sopleng village

Kangpokpi, July 31 2026:
The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Imphal, organised a one-day Special Outreach Programme (SOP) on the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Sopleng Village High Schoolin Kangpokpi district on July 30 .
S Rimai, TA (S), CBC, Regional Office, Imphal, outlined the objectives and historical background of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at the outset of the programme.
Mungrei Konghay, Secretary of the village authority, attended as chief guest, while retired Headmaster Amon Konghay was the special guest.
Both exhorted the participants and appreciated the Government of India for bringing the awareness campaign to the village.
Resource person Johnson Kashung, Headmaster of the school, elaborated on the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and sensitised students, local youths, women and villagers about the dangers of drug and substance abuse.
He called for collective efforts to combat drug addiction, which has been adversely affecting society for a long time.
He also administered the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan pledge to the participants.
A quiz contest was also organised as part of the programme, followed by distribution of prizes to the winners.
