JNIMS conducts CS free of cost

Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) conducted ceasarian section (CS) free of cost on the pregnant wife of a village volunteer and the woman gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Saturday.
JNIMS director professor L Deben told media persons at the post-natal ward of JNIMS that the hospital has been providing free treatment to people affected by the ongoing violence under the guidance of chief minister N Biren Singh, who is also the president of JNIMS Society.
The hospital has been giving free treatment to anyone affected by the violence without any differentiation of rich or poor.
According to L Deben, he received information on November 16 evening about the pregnant wife of a village volunteer defending Meetei villages in fringe areas from Kuki militants' attack admitted to the hospital.
After completing medical tests and diagnosis, the woman gave birth to a healthy boy at about 9.40 am Saturday through ceasarian section, he said, adding that JNIMS will continue to help people affected by the violence and families of village volunteers.
Meanwhile, a village volunteer, named, Jupiter Moirangcha from Keirao Wangkhem told media persons that the territorial integrity of Manipur can be protected when people working in different professions extend help at their level best.
He appealed to those working in education and medical sectors to extend help at their level best and shoulder responsibility for strengthening unity and integrity.
