CCpur, January 25 2019:
Joining the bandwagon, Zomi Human Rights Foundation has today voiced their opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 saying it will turn North East India into a dumping ground of illegal immigrants.
Looking into the contents of the Bill and its in the near future, it is therefore, a foregone conclusion that there will be huge impact and invasion on the demographic, social- political life and economies of the deprived and less privilege citizens of India, particularly in North East India.
The North East India will be made the dumping ground of all those illegal migrants, said a statement issued by the rights body of the Zomis.
The statement which described in details the terms and contents of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 in its current form said, stonewalling of the North East Indian Indigenous people, insurmountable political domination as experienced in some States of North East will be the Bill's outcome.
The Zomi Human Rights Foundation therefore, strongly opposes CAB and urged the Union Home Minister to withdraw the said Bill.
