R-Day wishes pour in from Governor, CM

Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has conveyed her warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the State on the occasion of the 70th Republic Day.
In her message, Dr Najma stated that India has earned the respect of many Nations by being the largest democracy in the world.
It also enjoys the distinction of being one of the fastest developing Nations, said the Governor and urged all to pay homage to the founding fathers of the country for their foresight and commitment.
"On this auspicious occasion, let us all re-dedicate ourselves to uphold and promote the secular, socialist and democratic values enshrined in our Constitution and work collectively for the advancement of the country," Dr Najma added.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh too conveyed his heartiest greetings on the occasion of the 70th Republic Day.
The Constitution came into effect on January 26, 1950 and India became a Sovereign, Socialist Secular Democratic Republic.
This sociopolitical system has enabled the country to emerge as a strong and respected Nation in the world, read a message of N Biren Singh.
The CM urged all to resolve to strengthen the bond of brotherhood and oneness among different communities in order to build a stronger and more prosperous State and country.
Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh also extended his warmest greeting to the people of the State on the occasion of Republic Day.
This Republic Day, let us all rejoice in the glory of the Nation and remember the sacrifices of our founding fathers and martyrs, the Minister said.
Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen wished the people of the State and the countrymen "Happy Republic Day, 2019" .
Nemcha appealed all to salute the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and soldiers of the country for an independent and unified India.
Major General KP Singh, IG of Assam Rifles (South) and all ranks of Assam Rifles also extended greetings to all the people of Manipur on the occasion of Republic Day.
"Assam Rifles is confident that we are up for any challenge as citizens of this country and would continue our march with determination towards a glorious destiny as a State and as a Nation as well," said the IG in a message.
