Imphal, December 27 2009: Wakrambam ongbi Moirangthem Sanahanbi has been conferred this year "Aphabi Mama" award instituted by the Ningol Khongchatlup, Manipur state on the occasion of celebration of Ningol-gi Numit today.

The Sagolsem Gambhini memorial award consisting of a Lengyanphi and a Khwangchet was handed over to the awardee by president of the organising body, Sagolsem Taruni in a function at Nupilal Memorial Complex as part of celebration of the "Ningol-gi Numit".

The Ningol Khongchatlup confers the award every year to selected best mother by the body.

On the occasion, annual edition of the journal "Ningol" was also released.

Dr RK Romeobala speaking as resource person of the function said that without mother a child cannot be brought up to become a perfect future pillar is well known by all.

Every woman must know the qualities need to be possessed by a good mother and try to become a good mother.

Some woman even left her own child to enter couple life with another man.

Societies need not such mother.

A mother should be adorned with symbol of sacrifice and firm integrity, she observed.

One woman should not look down upon the other.

Instead, they should hold consultation to each other rectify their weakness and take a major role in the effort to bring up status of women in the society, she went to observe.

President of the Ningol Khongchat Lup, former councilor of Thoubal Municipal Council, Yumnam Basanta, president of the Ethai Nupicha Association, Naorem Premila and advisor of the Ningol Khongchat Lup, Dr RK Romeobala were in the dais of today's function.
