OSC CCpur building inaugurated

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Children cum formal dedication of Sakhi-One Stop Centre (OSC) building of Churachandpur was held on Thursday at the centre's Headquarters Veng premises.
The programme was attended by Churachandpur DC Pawan Yadav as chief guest, SDO Dharun Kumar as president and Pherzawl DC Joseph Pauline Kamson as guest of honour.
DSWO Churachandpur A Tamphasana Chanu and additional SP (IUCAW) Hasby Haokip were also present at the event as special guests.
Plantation of tree saplings at OSC campus by the dignitaries, guests and women leaders from CBOs and presentation of prize to winner of a photography contest conducted on the theme 'Stop Violence Against Women' marked the event.
Winner of the photography contest namely Christopher Faiheng of Saikot village was given Rs 5000 in cash, a certificate and an OSC awareness gift mug.
In his speech, Pawan Yadav lauded contribution of women to the society and said that women are the extraordinary gift of God as they toil from morning till late night to cater to the needs of the family.
Speaking on the occasion, Hasby Haokip opined that respect for women and avoidance of violence against women is a must while it is equally important that women too need to understand about how to respect their spouses.
