PNTM destroys poppy cultivation

Senapati, November 07 2022:
On the directive of the Poumai Naga Students Union (PNTM), villagers of Khabung Lower and Khabung Upper village in Senapati district destroyed a poppy cultivation which is believed to have been illegally cultivated within their jurisdiction.
A strict warning was also reportedly served to the Nepalese who were allegedly involved in the poppy cultivation and the villagers who gave their land for the same.
Notably, the Poumai Naga Union and other frontal organizations have declared recently their areas to be poppy free.
The volunteers reportedly destroyed the huts that were constructed at the site including the field prepared for poppy cultivation.
This act shall remain as warning to all who fail to follow the directives of Poumai Naga Union (PNU), stated the PNTM.
Meanwhile, Asahrii Clement, president, Poumai Naga Students Union (PNTM) has called upon all the Poumai Naga people and inhabitants to follow the directives and order issued by the Poumai Naga Union.
