ACI Lambung holds maiden Science, Art exhibition

Chandel, July 31 2026: Anallon Christian Institute (ACI), Lambung, organised its maiden Science and Art Exhibition on Friday under the theme "Curiosity Creates, Creativity Inspires" .

Established in 1975 by L Wolhring, the institute organised the exhibition under the supervision of Leivon Raj Kom, with support from Ts Pholnihrin, Sr Naomi, St Konison and Kt Tonihrin.

The inaugural programme was attended by Hrangbung Starson, MES, ZEO Chandel; Joseph Khamba, Science Supervisor, Chandel; Dr Wilson Shongshir, Food Safety Officer, Chandel, who also served as the exhibition judge; and Lh Warngam, Vice Principal, ACI.

The programme, compered by Sr Naomi, began with a musical performance by Vami Khumlo of Class XII (Science).

In his welcome address, Vice Principal Wamgam described the exhibition as a historic milestone for the institution and expressed hope that it would become an annual event.

Exhibition Supervisor Raj highlighted the significance of the theme, noting that curiosity and creativity have been driving forces behind human innovation throughout history.

In his inaugural address, ZEO Hrangbung Starson encouraged students to dream big and pursue innovative ideas for the betterment of society.

Citing the achievement of 13-year-old Indian-origin student Arika Kundu in the United States, who developed a method to convert peanut-shell waste into a material capable of removing pesticides, he urged students to embrace innovation and actively participate in scientific exhibitions.

Following the inaugural session, guests toured the exhibition, where students displayed scientific demonstrations, live experiments, working models and innovative projects.

A total of 20 stalls showcased projects on themes including E20 fuel, microplastics, rainwater harvesting, decomposition, light transportation and human physiology, among other contemporary scientific concepts.

An open exhibition was also organised later in the day for parents and guardians.

A quiz competition conducted by Pholnihring Tongsin was another highlight of the event.

The day-long programme concluded with the declaration of results and distribution of prizes, marking a successful beginning to what the institute hopes will become a regular platform for promoting scientific inquiry, creativity and innovation among students.
