Leechinghenba Lairenmayum to represent Manipur at Natl level Science Seminar

Leechinghenba Lairenmayum of Sainik School, Imphal will be representing Manipur at the National Level Science Seminar which will be held in Bangalore on October 5 this year.
The student got the opportunity to represent the State yesterday after he outperformed 14 other students participating in the XL State Level Students' Science Seminar, 2018 which was organized by the Science Unit Department of Education (S), Manipur under the aegis of National Council of Science Museums, New Delhi, at Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound, yesterday.
The State level students' science seminar was held under the topic "Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0: Are We Prepared?" and was participated by 15 students who were selected from zonal levels.
Ng Havanai of St Anthony's School, Senapati bagged the second position while the 13 others students who participated in the seminar were given consolation prizes.
The first position holder, Leechinghenba Lairenmayum of Sainik School, was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000, an incentive of Rs 5000, a certificate and a memento while the second position holder was given a cash prize of Rs 4000, a certificate and a memento.
The consolation prizes included a cash prize of Rs 2000, a certificate and a memento each.
The prize distribution function of the State level students' science seminar was held at the same venue later in the evening.
The felicitation programme was graced by Education (S) Commissioner H Deleep Singh, Education (S) Director Th Kirankumar and Education (S) (Valley) Additional Director Ch Sachi Devi as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
