Minister inspects Ngarumphung Model Horticulture Centre

Ukhrul, September 13 2018:
Horticulture and Soil Conservation Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar today inspected Model Hortiailture Centre, a project implemented by the Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department under the North Eastern Council (NEC) funding at Ngarumphung village, Ukhrul district.
The, project is implemented with a cost of Rs 1.5 crore.
Addressing the media persons, Th Shyamkumar said he is happy that the department officials have properly implemented the project at the Ngarumphung village.
Stating that it is the only Model Horticulture Centre in the Ukhrul district, he informed that such projects are also implemented at districts of Tamenglong, Kangpokpi and other valley districts.
He informed that he will soon inspect the development of the projects in the other districts.
He advised the department officials to make the vermicompost pit and solar panels fully functional at the Ngarumphung Model Horticulture Centre.
He also asked the officials to keep the surroundings need and clean in order to boost the morale of the farmers so that they can contribute to their maximum level.
Th Shyamkumar further said the State Government led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh is fully committed to providing assistance to the beneficiaries of the State.
Stating that the Model Horticulture Centre will help the farmers in providing livelihood, he also said that the officials should work and properly implement various projects for the welfare of the people.
