Manipur Pradesh Congress Seva Dal today celebrated its 87th birth anniversary at Imphal Congress Bhavan, BT road.
President of the MPCC, Gaikhangam, Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Dr S Budhichandra, state education minister, L Jayentakumar, PDA chairman, Kh Loken, MPCC vice-president, T Mangi, MLA Dr Ratan, AK Mirabai, Bidhyabati Senjam, newly elected MLA, E Suraj were among other who attended the celebration function.
Addressing the gathering Congress workers, MPCC Chief Gaikhangam said to improve party position; the role of Congress Seva Dal is very huge as the dal is the backbone of the party.
Congress is best compare to other national political party.
People considered the party is one of the most discipline parties.
The credit to this goes to Seva dal.
The Seva Dal is working for the rights of the people and without the Seva Dal, Congress will be hard to served people.
The dal should try to increase the number of membership in the state.
MLA, ministers and other leaders should conduct campaign to enroll more members of the dal in their respective constituencies.
Not only increasing the number, they should also increase their activities, the president observed.
Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Dr S Budhichandra speaking on the occasion observed that without Seva Dal, Congress cannot survive.
As far activities of Seva dal is increasing, the strength of the party will be increase.
Vice president, T Mangibabu recalled that Seva Dal was first known as Rastriya Seva Dal but it was rechristened as only Seva Dal on this day in December 1926 as part of the Congress.
The main objective of founding Seva Dal is to form a volunteer force of the party.
Seva Dal is the backbone of the Congress.
So, every Congressman should effort to strengthen the Dal, he added.
