MUTA condemns bomb threat

Imphal, October 22 2026: The Manipur University Teachers' Association (MUTA) has strongly condemned the reported bomb threat at the residence of Prof Maisnam Bobo Singh (Chinglen Maisnam) at Singjamei Chanam Pukhri Mapal, Imphal West.

In protest against the act of terror and to demand safety and security for the university community, MUTA is organising a sit-in protest on October 23 at 11 am at the Traffic Island of Manipur University Campus.

MUTA has appealed to all faculty members, staff and students of Manipur University to participate in the sit-in to show solidarity and raise a collective voice against acts of terror and violence.

"Let us stand united for peace, security and academic freedom.

Let knowledge explode not bombs", MUTA said in its statement.
