CWAF Manipur appeals

Extending solidarity to the people affected by the recent civic disturbances, Cultural Workers and Activists Forum (CWAF), Manipur has urged the Central & State Governments to monitor the deployment of security forces and ensure they protect the lives of innocent civilians and their properties.
In a release, CWAF raised questions over the failure of the Government to control the current situation despite the deployment of a large number of State & Central forces in the Manipur.
The forum appealed to the Central and State Governments to take immediate action to restore law & order in Manipur.
The forum also condemned the selfish acts of some leaders who are rebelling against the Government during these crucial junction when the whole State is burning due to the jecent turmoil which has led to irreparable loss of precious innocent lives and properties.
"It is high time for the Government to find out the anti-social elements who are trying to incite communal tension in the State", it added.
CWAF also claimed that the unchecked influx of illegal immigrants from across tfie border is a major cause for the recent turmoil in Manipur.
The fomm further appealed to the Government to mpnitor the porous international border with Myanmar to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
