Nilakamal, Thumthup Anal to be conferred Chingsubam Akaba Ningshing Mana

Irom Nilakamal and HB Thumthup Anal have been selected for conferring Chingsubam Akaba Ningshing Mana, for the year 2013 .
The award is given to two individuals every year, one form the hills and the other from the valley, for their exceptional roles in trying to promote Sanamahism, their culture and tradition and language.
The award would be handed over to them on the occasion of 6th Death Anniversary of Chingsubam Akaba which is to be observed on January 24 under the joint auspices of Chingsubam Akaba Ningsing Lup and MEELAL.
Announcing selection of the awardees at the head office of MEELAL here today, Convener of MEELAL, Moirangthem Naokhomba informed that Irom Nilakamal of Kamong, who has been left disabled in the agitation to keep the Sanamahi Temple at its present place at Hayingkhongban, has been selected for the Chingsubam Akaba Ningshing Mana from the valley.
While from amongst the individuals in the hills, HB Thumthup Anal of Riverland village, Chandel would be conferred the award in recognition of his role in promotion of Meetei Mayek (script) and Manipuri language.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each along with a certificate.
The award would be handed over to the recipients on the occasion of the6th Death Anniversary of Chingsubam Akaba which is due to be observed on January 24 at the final resting place of late Chingsubam Akaba located atop Wakha hill.
The function would be graced by Agriculture Minister Abdul Nasir as Chief Guest.
Parliamentary Secretary in charge of MOBC Amin Shah and Director of Settlement and Land Records, Wangkheimayum Rajen would also be present as Guests of Honour while Deputy Director of Agriculture Department, Pheiroijam Rajendro will be the Special Guest.
Pheiroijam Rajendro would also inaugurate a rest house built in the name of late Chingsubam Akaba by the Agriculture Department on the occasion.
