75th anniversary of tricolour hoisting observed

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Manipur unit celebrated the 75th anniversary of tricolour hoisting at Moirang yesterday.
It can be recalled that April 14 is the birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and people celebrate the day with full enthusiasm while many pay tribute to the great thinker, social reformer and architect of the Indian Constitution.
The day is also considered as a historic day in the Indian struggle for freedom when Subhash Chandra Bose overthrew the British regime in India by leading the Indian National Army (INA) .
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose declared the formation of "Azad Hind Sarkar in Exile" from Singapore and declared war against the British on October 21,1943 .

AHS instituted it's own Constitution, cabinet, currency, Court, military and judiciary and civil code.
For the first time, the tricolour flag was hoisted on December 30, 1943 which created confidence in the masses about India's freedom.
Thereafter, INA became victorious in Moirang on April 14, 1944 .
On the other hand, Department of Art and Culture and INA Advisory Committee also observed the day at INA Martyr's Memorial Complex, Moirang yesterday.
Following the salute by a team of 42 AR, Moirang Ningthou K Ibohal hoisted the tri colour flag and paid floral tributes to the bust of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
INA Advisory Committee chairman , MLA Moirang AC P Sharatchandra and 42 Assam rifles officials were also present at the ceremony.
