21,910 posts for direct recruitment vacant

Imphal, June 28 2021: Apart from informing that the number of vacant posts in different departments under state government including those already approved for recruitment by the state cabinet is 21,910 in total, secretaries in-charge of these departments have been informed to look into matter and furnish concrete report to the government at the earliest.

In a circular, Department of personnel and administrative reforms (personnel division) joint secretary has informed secretaries of all the departments and autonomous bodies to furnish report mentioning vacant posts lying in their respective departments by 2pm of June 28 or else the earlier data available at the department would be taken as granted and accordingly initiate further actions.

As per data available at the department of personnel and administrative reforms and shared to departments, a total of 21,910 posts are lying vacant in different departments and 8,661posts have already been approved by the state cabinet for recruitment while the remaining 13,162 posts are yet to get cabinet nod.

Department-wise posts lying vacant for direct recruitment are 335 in agriculture, 90 adult education, 122 art & culture, 31 administrative reforms (SAT), 108 co-operation, 166 CAF & PD, 31 CADA, six civil defence, 57 craftsmen training, 11 deputy labour commissioner, 89 economics & statistics, 4415 education-S, 859 education-U, 74 employment exchange, 95 election, 484 excise, 162 fisheries, 137 fire service, 427 forest, 24 forensic science, 169 family welfare, 179 GAD, 106 handloom & textiles, and 298 in horticulture and soil conservation.

Vacant posts lying for direct recruitment in other departments are seven in institutional finance, 105 IPR, 14 IT, 54 jail, 35 local audit fund, two language, planning & employment, six law (government advocate), 12 law (prosecution directorate), 20 MANIREDA, four MPSC, 1857 medical & health services, 1016 MSPDCL, 766 MSPCL, 183 MAHUD, 43 Manipur Technical University, 85 minor irrigation, 426 PHED, 3564 police, 576 works, 20 printing & stationery, six relief & rehabilitation, 43 relief & disaster management, 983 revenue, 137 sericulture, six small saving, 51 SCERT, 87 taxation, 254 trade, commerce & industry, 165 transport, 113 treasury and accounts, 40 TA & H (directorate), 1820 TA & H (ADC), nine tourism, 337 veterinary & animal husbandry, 405 water resources and 184 in YAS department.
