Imphal, December 27 2009: A member of the KCP(Lamphel Group) was nabbed by a combined force of Imphal west police commandos and 3 Assam Rifles today at about 1.30 pm from Khoyathong area.

He has been identified as Laishram Amar alias Nanao son of L Dhananjoy of Naranseina Awang Leikai.

Two more members of the KCP (Noyon group) were also nabbed by the Imphal west district police commandos from Kakwa Bazar yesterday at about 3 pm.

They were identified as Moirangthem Anand alias Khingba (31) son of late Achou of Singjamei Makha Sorokhaibam Leikai and Potsangbam Ibochouba (30) son of P Nabachandra of Heirangoithong Aheibam Leikai.

A statement of the Senior SP of Imphal west district said that Anand was a former activist and now an active member of the KCP (Noyon).

He was involved in the kidnapping the staff of fishery department for extortion of Rs 10 lakh from the department as party fund.

He was also involved in hurling of hand grenade at the house of the EE of PHED department on December 7 at about 6.15 pm while Ibochouba was involved in the kidnapping of the staff of fishery department under the command of Anand, the statement informed.
