Time for collective responsibility to bring peace: Khubler Kom

Drawing attention of the various communities in the state for a collective responsibility, president of the National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO), Khubler Kom, has appealed to the people of different communities to stand united.
He was talking at a Gaan-Ngai celebration held at Oinam Kabui village today.
A team of NIPCO led by its president exchanged gifts with the villagers of Oinam Kabui village today as part of the Gaan-Ngai celebration.
Khubler Kom stressed the need for mass participation in such festival of a community and also urged for the protection one 's culture and tradition with a concerted effort.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, former minister Dr Y Jiten said that Gaan-Ngai is an important festival of the Kabui community.
Mass participation in such festival will bring unity and peace in the state.
Khullakpa of the village Manihar Kabui presided over the function.
Vice president, NIPCO Sunil Karam also attended the function.
Members of NIPCO presented gifts to the villagers as part of the festival.
Officials of Oinam Nagar Panchayat, villagers of Oinam also presented gifts to the Kabui villagers.
Members of United Committee Manipur (UCM) also presented a water tank of 500 litres to the villagers of Chaobok Kabui village in Thoubal district as part of the Chakan Gaan-Ngai festival.
UCM president, Yumnamcha Dilip, vice president Y Nabakumar, general secretary W Second and other members of UCM attended the festival.
People of Meetei and Meetei Pangal community also participated the festival today.
People of Lamjaotongba Gram Panchayat led by Pradhan Th Sumanta also exchanged gifts with the people of Ramji Kabui village, Tera.
Speaking in the occasion, Th Sumanta said that Gaan-Ngai should not be taken as a festival of Kabui only.
Instead, all the people of the different communities residing in the state should think the festival as their own festival and participate in the celebration of the festival.
This will help in bringing unity among the various communities of the state.
A community must preserve their own traditions and culture to live with dignity in the world.
Kabui community is preserving their tradition by celebrating the festival with religious and cultural programmes.
He appealed to the people of the state to stand united and make up integrity for peaceful development in the state.
